The statues of Karro are still alive.
The stone plague takes one person at a time: a baker mid-knead, frozen in his own market, warm to the touch and dreaming. Everyone in Karro walks past the statues. Tam Arden, fourteen, the stone-cutter's son, is the only one who can hear what is happening inside them. The Warm Stone is Book One of The Stone Plague, a six-book fantasy mystery, and it is free.

Book One of The Stone Plague
It begins with a scream nobody else can hear.
Bram the baker is the warmest man in Karro, and on an ordinary market morning he stops mid-knead, one hand in the dough, his head turned as if he heard his name called from very far away. The square hears nothing. Tam hears Bram scream, clear as a bell, from nowhere in the world.
What follows is not a rescue story, exactly. The dreamers are building something inside the stone, a city with streets. The Registrar of Stone, Corin, has a plan for all of it, and for Tam. And twelve years ago Tam's father, Joren Arden, the royal sculptor, walked out one autumn morning and never came home. There was no body. There was no statue either.
Book One is free. The stone is warm.
Six books, one city turning to stone, and a boy learning to listen. Start here, free, and find out why the dreamers say Tam's name.
